You may wish to contact an insurance company of your choice in order to obtain protection for the contents of your safe deposit box. It would be beneficial to keep a complete, up-to-date list and description of all of your contents stored in your safe deposit box. This list and any other proof of ownership documents should be stored in a location separate from your safe deposit box. The credit union does not view the contents of your safe deposit box, therefore, the credit union is not able to keep an inventory list or insure the contents.
